The team at Ktec Autohaus & Evotech (https://www.facebook.com/ktecrallye/) really know how to look after their customers – besides being the best at working on and tuning Euros, they are forever organising track days at various locations throughout WA, so the owners get a chance to get the most out of their machines in safe and professional environments.
The guys organised a meet on a Saturday morning recently at the Driver Risk Training Management track (previously known as the RAC Driving Centre) out near the Perth airport (https://www.facebook.com/driverriskmanagement/) Several customers rolled through the entrance around 8am for two hours of uninterupted tracktime.
It isn’t really about who is the fastest or the best, but rather about getting out there and enjoying your car. Learning how your car performs and the best way to get the most out of it is the challenge.
If it’s an owner’s first time on the track, one of the Ktec guys can jump on board to offer advice or even better yet, the world-famous, rally car driver, Alister McRae can point them in the right direction with a heap of valuable information. You won’t find that anywhere else in the state.
Lots of the guys had been out on the circuit before and they use the experience to track certain changes made to their cars and to review the performance of their vehicles. Making small changes and then seeing what impact they have is the best way to do things rather than throwing a heap of changes at a car and then trying to figure out what made the difference.
The Ktec crew is also there to assist with the tuning of cars, checking tyre pressures and making sure things run smoothly and safely for all.
As well as driving, there is, of course, the social side of things. There is plenty of banter and lots of laughs. The passion for motor vehicles is something that everyone shares on days like this. It really is all about the vibe.
The team at Ktec plan on running this casual meet every month or upon special request from groups of owners. If you want to use the track yourself get in touch with the guys at Driver Risk Training Management and if you want me to shoot your track time, get in touch with me or make the request when you book.
